Food was all good, the ambiance was pretty cool in the old house. Service was solid. Pretty much what you would expect from a traditional steak house.
We finally went to Jimmy Kelly's! The restaurant was beautiful inside. We started with the calamari which was cooked perfectly and was delicious! I had the sea bass which was very good although I didn't not care for the stuffing. My husband had the rib eye which he loved and potatoes which were so good! We took red velvet cake home which I will say was a big disappointment as it was So dry. The host and our server Isaac were top notch! I'm sure we will return and try a different dessert!
We went here for a work dinner and were placed in the private dining room. We sat in a big square formation. I believe we had about 20 people in our group and the room fit us comfortably, although some were kind of "stuck" once they sit down. The room was dark (intimate lighting), however based on the number of people using their phone lights for ambiance, led me to believe more than one person felt it was too dark in the room. I thought it was fine (I did not have my phone light on). We had one server for our room and she was a PRO - so good, she was kind, patient and fun. She made suggestions for food and drink and also told us the history of the restaurant (it was the 75th anniversary year in 2024). We all shared appetizers that consisted of corn cakes, onion rings, muscles, Brussel sprouts. They were all great and 3 order each were plenty for the room. Because it was a work dinner, I decided I would try to order something from the lesser expensive options. I ordered the JK Classic Burger. It was perfectly cooked at medium, juicy and flavorful. The fries were ok - they were coated, which made them heavier than normal fries. Overall great food with amazing flavors, great service and a cool history behind this business.
Delicious drinks. Fantastic food. Sensational service. There's no place better! The filet is the best I've ever had!
On our trip to Nashville, TN earlier this year we got to try a delicious dinner at this famous restaurant Their service is amazing and the ambiance is just perfect. . - Cornbread Pancakes - Ribeye w/Roasted Garlic Butter - Crab Stuffed Sea Bass w/Lemon-Dijon & Herb Oil - Creamed Corn Brûlée - Lobster Tail . Everything was so exquisite, definitely worth a visit when you are in Nashville. They are celebrating their 90 years!
Their jumbo shrimp is to die for. They also are the most generous people in town at the zoo fundraising event. Their beef stuffed pastry was also so moist and tasty. Can't wait to come back for more!
Complimentary Valet parking. Ramp entry to restaurant if desired. The Anniversary Dinner Specials $90 per couple. Included choice of salad, Lobster Thermidor or Chateaubriand and Pompous Fries! Claude our server was outstanding. He even told is a little history of the 30+ years of service at Kelly's. The 4 of us were in a private room upstairs in the Mansion. Please give the New Owners a chance to give y'all a dinner of enjoyment and pleasure to your taste buds! Ciao Ronnie!
Solid old-school Nashville steakhouse. Jimmy Kelly's is a solid steakhouse with good food and a nice bar. The ambiance is somewhat intimate with hardwood floors and wood beams on the ceiling, and it's a nice place to bring a date or a small group. Many of the staff have been here a long time and they are super helpful. My wife and I most recently visited for New Year's Eve dinner, and we had a great meal. The restaurant has a nice wine list, but I had a 2016 Stags' Leap Cab in my cellar that I brought. Our server immediately noticed the bottle and did a great job opening and pouring the wine. The $30 corkage fee was well worth it. I also ordered a Manhattan when we sat down and it was a great start to the evening. The complimentary hot corn cakes served with butter are always a treat, and we always seem to finish all of them. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye Pittsburgh Rare and it was cooked perfectly. I paired it with the Cajun Shrimp sauce and with a side of Creamed Corn Brûlée. The sauce worked very well with the steak. The corn was served in a hot skillet and was appropriately sweet. All in all, a delicious meal. I highly recommend Jimmy Kelly's for a good steak. My wife ordered the lobster pasta and enjoyed it that night and the next day. It was a large portion with lots of lobster.
Valet parking. Walking upstairs to the door, and an amazing decorated mansion awaiting guests. A stately home decorated with chandeliers, white table cloths, fireplaces, dim lighting, mirrors and fine oil paintings. Several small dining rooms upstairs; each had about six tables. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable, easy to carry conversations. The service was outstanding! Our waiter Scott was very warm and cheerful. He checked in on us throughout the meal and answered our questions patiently in great detail. Prices were on the higher end. Food was great! The famous corn cakes were served throughout the meal. Very addictive, one could easily end up eating too much and spoil the appetite for the entree. We ordered: 5*Kelly's half filet with house salad: I have to sing praises of Kelly's for even offering the dish. I usually don't want to stuff myself at dinner and this is a perfect solution. The filet mignon was very tender and tasty, just perfect! 4*Fish of the day: sea bass was cooked tender with an amazing sauce. 5*Prime aged bone in New York strip: it was a huge 18 oz steak. I didn't try it but was told very good. Every entree came with house salad and baked potatoes. The salad was ordinary, but the baked potato was so good I took it home. Overall it was a very enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes steakhouses.
